CRIME FACTORY PUBLICATIONS RETURNS WITH THE ALL-AUSTRALIAN HARD LABOUR
Following a festive book launch back in March of this year, Crime Factory Publications returns to Grumpy’s Green, Monday, October 8 2012, to debut Hard Labour – an all-Australian anthology.
Hard Labour continues CFP’s commitment to mix the best of the new with the established pros of the crime genre. Brand new fiction from Peter Corris, Leigh Redhead, Helen FitzGerald, Angela Savage, David Whish-Wilson, along with Garry Disher’s first ever Wyatt story (unpublished in over a decade), rubs shoulders with contenders JJ DeCeglie, Andrez Bergen, Deborah Sheldon and many more, including CFP’s own widely-published editorial staff. Along with a brand new story by Melbourne-based Irish veteran Adrian McKinty, the story collection is topped off with a foreword by Sisters in Crime National Co-Convenor, Lindy Cameron.
Hard Labour will retail for $13.99 per hard copy and $2.99 per e-book, price points cementing CFP’s commitment to shaking up outdated local publishing and pricing models.
The Hard Labour launch evening will include readings by numerous authors from the collection in the loose, fun format of The First Shift launch back in March.
In addition to its book schedule, Crime Factory Publications also continues to publish its award-winning magazine, with issue 11 recently released, and has further books planned for 2013.
Entry to the Hard Labour launch is free. The purchase of many books and much booze is encouraged. Attendees should feel free to hang around for mingling, signings and drinks until closing.
Grumpy’s Green is located at 125 Smith Street, Fitzroy,3065. Doors open at 7pm, with readings beginning sometime around 8pm.
